Homer “Abe” William Rusho, 87, of Camp Hill , died at Golden Living Center in Camp Hill, and went to his new home in heaven on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born in Fayette Township, on Wednesday, June 3, 1925, son of the late Clayton Rusho and Olive (Smith) Rusho. Abe was the widower of Beatrice Louise (Williamson) Rusho whom he married on June 6, 1948 and who died on January 20, 2008.
Abe’s survivors include his loving daughter, Francine Rusho-Drupp and her husband Chris of Palmyra; his grandchildren, Christopher Drupp and Melissa Griffin; his great-grandchildren, Christian McKinney-Drupp, Mariah Drupp, and Steven “Bubba” Griffin; his great-great grandchildren, Javion Drupp and Zujailey McKinney-Gomez; his sister, Leaty Benner; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Abe in death are his brother, Merle Rusho and his sister, Irene Dressler.
Abe retired from Kay Jewelers in Carlisle, with over 35 years of service working as a sales manager. He received the highest award for sales ever given by Kay Jewelers. Abe was a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church . He was a US Army Veteran of WW II . Abe was a devoted Christian who enjoyed sharing his love of God with people. He loved going to yard sales and collecting coins.
All are welcome to join Abe’s family at his visitation on Friday, March 15, 2013, from 9:00 to until time of service at 10:00 at Shiremanstown United Methodist Church , 125 East Main Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011, with Pastor Logan Garth Swanger and Albert Clark officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, where military honors will be presented. Abe’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimers Association , 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205 Harrisburg, PA 17110 or the church.The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone at Golden Living Center and Odessey Hospice who so lovingly cared for Abe during his illness.
