Loving Daughter and Sister -
Hope Marie Thomas, age 30, of Mechanicsburg, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Hope was born on Wednesday, May 1, 1985 in Harrisburg, PA to Roni L. Thomas. Hope was embraced in heaven by her paternal grandmother, Phyllis VanSelow and her aunt, Stacey Witmer.
Hope’s survivors include her parents: Roni L. Thomas and her fiancé, Greg Fennell, of Mechanicsburg, and Roger VanSelow II of Dauphin; her three sisters: Steph Witmer of Clearfield, Faith and Charity VanSelow, both of Mechanicsburg; her two step-brothers: Adam and Cade Fennell; her maternal grandparents: Ron and Jeannette Thomas of Mechanicsburg; her paternal grandfather, Roger VanSelow I of Dauphin; and her niece, Ellie Weibley.
Hope graduated from East Pennsboro High School as part of the class of 2003. She was a Steelers fan, and Hope enjoyed playing Phase 10 and watching WWE with her sister. More than anything, Hope loved her family. She also loved to laugh, and her family will miss Hope’s contagious, bubbly giggle and sensitive nature.
All are welcome to join Hope’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Chaplain Robert L. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg. Hope’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, 61 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA following the interment. Cremation was private.
