Irene Jayne (Kaminski) Fetrow
Irene Jayne (Kaminski) Fetrow, age 81, of Carlisle passed away peacefully at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Hospital on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Irene was born on Thursday, January 1, 1942, in Shenandoah to the late Alfred Kaminski and Clara E. (Grow) Kaminski. In addition to father and birth mother, Irene is preceded in death by her adoptive mother, Doris Jean (Ring) Kaminski; her son, Daniel Fetrow; and her brother Karl Kaminski.
Irene’s survivors include her husband of 62 years, Wesley “Wes” Glenn Fetrow; her two children: Richard “Rick” Glenn Fetrow and significant other, Michell Kearns, of Carlisle, Lisa May Keefer and husband, David, of Mechanicsburg; her four grandchildren: Clint Keefer, Jill Bolger and husband, James, Kelly Shuey and husband, Todd, and Chelsea Kearns; and her two great-grandchildren: Addison Shuey and Sunshine Bolger.
Irene graduated from Cedar Cliff High School as part of the class of 1959. She retired from Horsefeathers, after many years of service working as a hair stylist. She also baked and decorated cakes. Irene was a member of the Blue Moon Cruisers and the Middlesex Senior Citizens Center. She was a great cook and prepared many delicious meals and treats for her family. She cherished the time that she spent with her family and always had fun with her grandchildren. Irene was a voracious reader; and to the astonishment of her family, nearly read a book a day for many years. She often went to yard sales, and brought home bags of books to read. Irene will be greatly missed by her family.
All are welcome to join Irene’s family at her service on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at The Mausoleum at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011; with Pastor Robert Bishard, Jr. and Pastor David Irvin officiating. Entombment will be private in Rolling Green Cemetery.
