Loving and Devoted Wife and Mother –
Isabel Dorothy (Kohler) Bergstresser, 95, of Mechanicsburg passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 29, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was the third of six children, born in 1920, to the late Millard and Mina (Huber) Kohler of Colonial Park.
Isabel was a loving and devoted wife to the late James H. Bergstresser and mother to two daughters, Louise and Elaine, both of Mechanicsburg. She was a 1938 graduate of Lower Paxton High School and a former employee of the Bell Telephone Company, Harrisburg. Isabel was a sweet, gracious lady who enjoyed spending time with her family, her two “grand-dogs” (Sophie and Patsy), and her “grand-kitty” (Snowball). She loved taking day trips, eating out, spending time outside, watching Lawrence Welk, and entertaining friends who stopped by to enjoy her warmth and humor.
All are welcome to join Isabel’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Isabel’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at The Stage and Studio Café, next door to Myers - Buhrig, immediately following the service. Private b urial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Churchtown.
The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at Azizkhan Internal Medicine, the caring nurses at the Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, and the loving home care provided by the SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice team.
