Ivan Bernard Karge, age 72, of Mechanicsburg , died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 5, 2015. Ivan was born on Monday, November 9, 1942 in Cherry Township to the late Ralph John Karge and Geraldine Lorena (Crawford) Karge. In addition to his parents, Ivan is preceded in death by his two sisters: Rita Gilbert, Anita Karge; his two brothers: Alvin Karge, and Melvin Karge.
Ivan’s survivors include his wife of 18 years, Rebecca “Becky” (Kocher) Karge; his step-son: Terry Skoda: his three brothers: Cleon Karge, Ronnie Karge, Butch Karge; and his four sisters: Vera Karge, Linda McDonald, Nina Karge, and Lena Karge.
Ivan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from June 1964 until June 1968. You may also remember Ivan from the VFW Post 1718 in Penbrook, Moose Lodge #107 in Marysville, American Legion Post #109 in Mechanicsburg, or Fraternal Order of Eagles in Carlisle.
All are welcome to join Ivan's family at his graveside service, where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard , on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Rolling Green Cemetery , 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011; with Chaplain Jeff Warner officiating.
