Loyal, Selfless & Courageous -

James Martin McHale, 52, of Mechanicsburg , died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 29, 2012, after a courageous ten-year battle with cancer. He was born in Scranton, on Monday, September 7, 1959, son of James G. McHale and Carol A. (Colleran) McHale.  Jim was the husband of Sheri (Johnson) McHale.

Jim graduated from Trinity High School as part of the class of 1978. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg. For the last ten years, Jim’s life revolved around his children’s sports and activities. He also enjoyed watching and following sports. His family was everything to him. Jim had a great sense of humor and was a humble, courageous, and loyal man.

Jim’s survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Sheri; his loving children, Aja of Lemoyne, Patrick and Jack, at home; his sister, Erin of CA; his brother, Colin and wife Kaley of CA; his father, James of NE; his mother, Carol of CA; his two nephews, Leitch and Julian; and his niece, Emma. Among those preceding Jim in death are a son, Ryan Casey McHale and a brother, Casey McHale.

All are welcome to join Jim’s family at his viewing on Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 with recitation of the rosary at 8:00, at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg with Rev. David M. Hereshko as celebrant and Rev. Paul C. Helwig as concelebrant. Burial will immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, c/o David Mainella, Duke Medicine, 512 S. Mangum St., Durham, NC 27701.
