James “Jim” Ivan Beaver
A Real Truck Driver & Biker -
James “Jim” Ivan Beaver, 64, of Dover (Newberry Township) died unexpectedly and suddenly on Thursday, November 3, 2011 in Chambersburg while working. He was born on Monday, November 25, 1946 in Mechanicsburg the son of the late James Dively and Vilma (Bankie) and his adoptive father, the late James Ivan Beaver, Sr. Jim married his long-time dear friend, Karlene Ann (Kuntz) Beaver, on April 5, 1991.
Jim graduated from East Pennsboro High School. He worked for Air Gas East in Harrisburg as a truck driver and he loved being a real truck driver. Jim was the recipient of the Million Mile Safe Driving Award. He greatly enjoyed owning and riding his Goldwing Trike Motorcycle and was a proud member of GWRRA. Both Jim and Karlene enjoyed making stained glass and Jim was a skilled leather smith creating a variety of leather crafts. He was a connoisseur of horror movies and enjoyed all movies. Jim was proud to be an Eagle Scout and was a wonderful role model for his grandsons who are also scouts.
Jim’s survivors include his loving wife of 21 years: Karlene Ann (Kuntz) Beaver; a daughter: Amy Spangler and her husband Troy and their sons: Quinten and Garrett, all of Etters; his five furry “kids”: Izzy, Sheba, Bobbi, Emma, Jakey; one son; two daughters; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to join Jim’s family at a Gathering of Family and Friends on Monday, November 7, 2011, from 5:00 until time of Farewell Service at 7:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055, (717) 766-3421, www.Myers-Buhrig.com .
The family strongly suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and have directed that any flowers received be donated to local organizations without being displayed at the Gathering of Family and Friends.
