James “Jim” Clark Hoover, Sr.

James “Jim” Clark Hoover, Sr., age 69, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Sunbury, PA died at Select Specialty Hospital on Friday, December 25, 2015.  Jim was born on Monday, September 30, 1946, in Sunbury, to the late James Frederick Hoover and Beatrice (Renninger) Hoover.

Jim’s survivors include his loving wife of almost 46 years, Linda Louise (Kistner) Hoover; his two children: James Hoover, Jr. and his wife, Tracey, of Camp Hill, Jaime Hoover of Mechanicsburg; his three grandchildren: Damian, Nicholas, Travis; his six siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim retired in 1999 from the U.S. Postal Service at Harrisburg Post Office after 28 years of service.  He loved to watch sports and enjoyed eating out, especially at Red Rabbit Drive-In, Hoss’s, and Shady Maple.  Jim was known for giving the best gifts to his family and they will dearly miss him.

All are welcome to join Jim’s family at his viewing on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 10:45 a.m. until time of remembrance at 12:15 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Jim’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at 1:00 p.m. at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House in Mechanicsburg following the closing ceremony.
