James “Jimmy” Hofer, 48, of Largo , FL died at home on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He was born in Camp Hill, on Wednesday, August 14, 1963, son of Burton and Peggy (Gill) Hofer of Mechanicsburg.  Jimmy was the husband of Barbara Ann (Martz) Hofer whom he married on September 11, 1992.

Jimmy graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1981. He was an air conditioning serviceman for apartment complexes in Harrisburg and Clearwater, FL. Jimmy and his wife were avid readers. He was a Penn State fan who proudly flew his PSU banner in Florida on game days. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a NASCAR fan.

Jimmy’s survivors include his loving wife of almost 20 years, Barbara; his loving parents, Burton and Peggy; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary C. (Hofer) Farris of Oakland, CA; a stepson, Paul Saneholtz of Forty Fort; and a stepdaughter, Robin Holden of Wiconisco.

All are welcome to join Jimmy’s family at his visitation on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church , 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill with Reverend John H. Brock officiating. Entombment will immediately follow in the Church Columbarium . Cremation was private.

Jimmy’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the church following the entombment. The family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or SPCA, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
