Jan Marie (Homovich) Heiges, age 49, of Mechanicsburg, went home and joined her family and friends in heaven on Monday, March 9, 2020.  Jan was born on Wednesday, April 15, 1970, in Carlisle to Joan Kay (Potteiger) Homovich and James “Jim” Philip Homovich.

In addition to her parents, Jan’s survivors include her husband of 27 years, Daryl Lynn Heiges; her daughter: Blake Ashlynn Heiges; and her son, Ridge Jameson Heiges; her sister, Jodi Black and her husband Kevin; her brother, Jeff Homovich and his wife Nicole; her significant other, Brad Fulmer; and several nieces and nephews.

Jan graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1988.  She worked in administration for over a decade at Cumberland Valley OB/GYN, PC in Mechanicsburg.  Jan was the coolest.  Her bright smile and beautiful blue eyes sparkled with love, and she had a hug for everyone.  She was a social butterfly whose genuine love for people and infectious personality brought smiles to all who were fortunate to know her.    Jan loved the outdoors and spring.  She couldn’t wait to plant flowers and watch the birds and butterflies.  She put Martha Stewart to shame with her incredible green thumb, her lovely garden rock walls she created from creek rocks, and the pleasure she got from cooking.  Jan was fiercely proud of her children and she loved being with her family.  Some of her happiest moments were spent with them, eating “slices” and enjoying beverages in Wildwood, N.J.  Jan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

All are welcome to join Jan’s family at her celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Monday, March 16, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory).  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Jan’s family invites you to dress casually and comfortably.  Cremation was private.

Contributions in celebration of Jan’s life can be made to the animal rescue of the donor’s choosing.
