Jan Kara (Allison) Kutney

Jan Kara Kutney, 50, of Mechanicsburg, died with dignity on Sunday, October 9, 2016 in the loving arms of her husband, Emery, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center after a 10 year battle with breast cancer.

Born in Harrisburg, PA on August 13, 1966, Jansy Pansy, as she was affectionately known, had a smile that would light up every room and everyone’s spirit.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald and her best friend and beloved mother, Genevieve.  Jan and Genevieve were two of a kind, unfortunately destined to the same fate.  But they handled it with grace and class and always a smile; even during their trips to the ‘chemo spa’, as they called it.  Despite it all they lived life fully and with a contagious zest that won’t be forgotten by those that knew them.

Jan is survived by her best buddy and husband, Emery.  Together only 10 short years, they made the most of it enjoying all kinds of hobbies, activities, and lots of travel including Jan’s bucket list trip to Bora Bora just a few months ago.  She will be forever remembered and forever missed.  Jan is also survived by family, many friends, and 8 nieces & nephews of whom she was really proud.

Jan wanted to say thank you to the too many to count friends of hers for all the support and love they gave her. She felt truly blessed by it.
