Janet Louise (Jumper) Comerer
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother -
Janet Louise (Jumper) Comerer, age 84, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at home on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Janet was born on Friday, October 6, 1933 in Newville to the late Charles Theodore Jumper and Della Irene (Clark) Jumper. Janet was the widow of Donald “Don” LaRue Comerer, whom she married on September 26, 1950, and who died on June 27, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, Janet is preceded in death by her brothers: Kenneth Jumper, Floyd Jumper, and David Jumper.
Janet’s survivors include her daughter, Darlene Sunday and her husband, Robert, of Carlisle; her son, Donald C. Comerer of Mechanicsburg; her three grandchildren: Kristi Minnich, Heather Sunday, Donald C. Comerer, Jr.; her three great grandchildren: Loghan Minnich, Evan Minnich, Ashton Sunday; her beloved K-9 companion, Snuggles; and many nieces and nephews.
Janet retired in 2003 after over 33 years of service as a school bus driver with Rohrer Bus. She greatly enjoyed driving school bus and missed the students when she retired. Janet’s favorite time of the year was Christmas and she was thrilled to have enjoyed the holiday with her family for her last time this past December. She enjoyed painting and firing ceramics as well as collecting life-like porcelain baby dolls and her family remembers her fondly every time they see the ceramics she gifted to them. Janet and her daughter, Darlene, spent many happy hours together at craft shows. Among the highlights of her life were the times she spent with her late husband, Don, on their Hawaii cruises, their trip of a life time to Nashville, and the many Ronnie McDowell Shows (especially his impersonation of Elvis) they attended together. Perhaps Janet’s greatest past-time and love was collecting Boyd’s Bears who had their own room known as the “Bear Room” where Don built many shelves to house her collection.
