Janet Marie (Eberhart) Herman

Janet Marie (Eberhart) Herman, 70, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.  She was the wife, of 51 years, of Robert H. Herman.  Janet was born on Wednesday, October 16, 1940, in Huntingdon PA, the daughter of the late Charles S. and Dorothy J. Eberhart.  She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Kenneth Eberhart and her sister Joan K. Sheaffer.

Janet was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School as part of the Class of 1958.  She worked for IBM briefly before becoming a homemaker.  She later managed the Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Janet is survived by her husband: Robert H. Herman and her children: Robert C. Herman and wife Tammy of York Springs; Susan K. Darnell and husband Timothy of Atlanta, GA; Jeffrey A. Herman and wife Sheri of Carlton, MN; Michael L. Herman and wife Jennifer of Warminster; and eight grandchildren: Leif, Elizabeth, Erik, Kristian, Timothy, Caraline, Sofie, Jorgen.

Janet will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  “How fortunate we are to have been touched by her life.”

Janet’s Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011, at Daybreak Church, 301 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA with Pastor Ronald O’Neil officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00.  Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will immediately follow her service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Daybreak Church Benevolence Fund or to your favorite charity in Janet’s memory.
