Janice Lorraine Spahr, age 65, of Newville, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center on Saturday, August 6, 2022.  Janice was born on Tuesday, May 7, 1957, in Harrisburg to the late Richard Clayton Spahr, Jr. and Elizabeth Grace (Starr) Spahr.  In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Clayton Spahr, Jr.

Janice’s survivors include her brother: Gregory “Greg” Alan Spahr and wife, Roberta, of Gettysburg; her two nieces, Heather Ann Spahr and husband, Timothy Pluley, of Dillsburg, Olivia Mackenzie Spahr of Gettysburg; and her two nephews, Daniel “Dan” Clayton Spahr of California, Randy Spahr and wife, Christina, of Dover.

Janice graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1976.  She worked as a manager for several retail stores in the area.  Janice loved to spend time with her mother, Elizabeth. They crafted together and both loved to travel together.  Janice enjoyed going to play bingo at the American Legion in Newville.  She had a passion for snowmen and had a very large collection.  Janice’s family and friends will miss her greatly.

All are welcome to join Janice’s family at gathering of family and friends on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. until time of service at 4:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating.  Private interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Cremation was private.
