Jason Ryan-Michael Gates, age 41, of Dillsburg, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022.  Jason was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1980, in Camp Hill to the late Alan Ray Gates and Jennie Elizabeth (Yantz) Gates-Donnelly.

Jason’s survivors include his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Lewis; his two daughters: Elizabeth and Amelia Gates; his brother, Michael Gates; his two sisters: Tammy Brinkley and Deb Donadee; and his beloved feline companion, Bernie.

Sarah hopes that everyone will remember the beautiful person that Jason was, which is encapsulated in the wedding vows that he spoke to her: “I am better because of you.  I vow to love, honor and cherish you.  To spend my days trying to be the man you deserve.  We have been through some dark days, and I know there are more to come.  I vow to be better, to lift you up when you fall, just as you do for me.  I will protect you, hold you, and try to give you the world.  I vow to give you all of me, even when I do not want to.  I am an imperfect man and you deserve more.  I will try to be more.  I will love you until my last breath.  This I do vow.”

All are welcome to join Jason’s family at his viewing on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville at the convenience of the family.  Cremation will be private.

Contributions in celebration of Jason’s life can be made to the Jason Gates Memorial Fund, c/o any Members 1st Federal Credit Union, to benefit his daughters, Elizabeth and Amelia.  Donations of any amount are welcome and greatly appreciated.  The family thanks you for your kind contributions.
