Jeanette Louise (Bostdorf) Fenton, 79, of Newport, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died at home and surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 13, 2013. She was born in Harrisburg, on Thursday, June 29, 1933, daughter of the late Lynn D. Bostdorf and Mabel I. (Bobb) Bostdorf. Jeanette was the widow of Harvey Fenton whom she married on August 2, 1958, and who died on December 1, 2005.
Jeanette’s survivors include her loving son, Paul Robert Fenton and his wife Denise of Newport; her grandchildren, Tonya Nace and husband Kraig, Cortney Fenton, Tiffany Fenton, Vincent Schmalz; her siblings, Esther Bender, Ruth Ellenberger, Henrietta March, Ray Bostdorf, Eugene Bostdorf; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Jeanette in death are a son Roger Fenton and a brother Richard Bostdorf.
Jeanette retired from Nationwide Insurance with over ten years of service. She was a feisty and unique individual. Jeanette loved gardening of any kind and was most happy when her hands and feet were in the dirt. She enjoyed camping and was a great listener. More than anything her family was the most important part of her life.
All are welcome to join Jeanette’s family at her Memorial Service on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 2:00 at Newport First Church of God , 334 South Fifth Street, Newport, PA, 17074, with Pastor Cheryl Dorman officiating. Cremation was private. Jeanette’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Newport Fire Hall, Mulberry Street, Newport, following the memorial service.
