Jeffrey “Jeff” Andrew Sunday, age 60, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of Orlando, FL, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Jeff was born on Friday, January 13, 1956 in Harrisburg, PA, to William Lloyd Sunday and the late Betty Jane (Fasnacht) Sunday.
Jeff’s survivors include his father, William Lloyd Sunday of Mechanicsburg; his sister, Dawn Sunday of Mechanicsburg and Ardmore; his niece, Noel Shadowen; his nephew, Nicholas Shadowen; close family friends: Tierna Stockley, Mitzi Chverchko, Natalie Blough; and his life-long friend, Diane Jacobs.
Jeff graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1974 and from Penn State University in 1978. He then attended and graduated from Dickinson School of Law. Jeff practiced law for his entire professional life, starting in Mechanicsburg and then in Orlando. He is remembered by Judge Evans, of the Orlando Court, as an attorney who truly cared about his clients and who always left his clients in a better position than when they met Jeff.
Jeff’s greatest passion was golf. He golfed in high school, at Penn State, and throughout his entire life. Twice, he reached the final qualifying round of the U.S. Open. At his best, Jeff was in the top 1,000 golfers in the country. Jeff played golf with a deep desire for perfection. It has been said that Jeff practiced enough law to pay for his golf. With his love of golf and practice of law it is clear to see that Jeff followed in the footsteps of his father, whom he admired.
Jeff’s family remembered his life privately with Pastor Randall J. Marburger officiating. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg was at the family’s convenience. Mr. Sunday, Jeff’s father, welcomes condolences in person at Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, where he currently resides.
