Jennifer “Jen” Lynn McCann, age 38, of Carlisle, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 7, 2016.  Jen was born on Friday, May 19, 1978 in Harrisburg to Scott B. McCann and Ruth A. (Erb) McCann.  Jen is preceded in death by her grandparents: Jack F. McCann, Margerite (Lebo) McCann, Richard C. Erb, and Sara E. (Stetler) Erb.

Jen’s survivors include her parents: Scott and Ruth (Erb) McCann of Carlisle; her brother, Scott F. McCann and his wife, Regina, and their children: Tara, Jackie, Coleby, and Brycen, of Mechanicsburg; and many friends.

Jen graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1996 and from Harrisburg Area Community College in 1999 with a degree of Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts – Visual Arts/Photography.  She loved going to dirt track races, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Flyers.  Jen was a member of the Beer Hill Gang at Williams Grove Speedway where loved drinking her favorite beer, Budweiser.  She was a great photographer and she showed her skills while working at Camera Box in Camp Hill taking senior pictures.  Jen also enjoyed collecting cat and cow trinkets, both of which she absolutely adored.  She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews.  Jen had a very giving spirit and would give the shirt off her back to anyone.  Everyone she met could see that she was a extremely upbeat and happy person; she will be missed dearly.

All are welcome to join Jen’s family at her viewing on Thursday, October 13, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Robert V. Bishard, Jr. officiating.
