Jeri Lynn (Griffith) Elam
Lovingly Devoted to her Family & Friends -
Jeri Lynn (Griffith) Elam, age 72, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 30, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Jeri was born on August 18, 1949, in Hillsboro, OH to the late Elon Estol Griffith and Doris June (Rammel) Soale.
Jeri’s survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald “Ron” Gene Elam; her daughter, Krista Lynn (Elam) Magee and her husband, Jeremy, of Mechanicsburg; her two granddaughters: Madison “Maddie” Chieppa; Samantha “Sami” Chieppa; her two sisters: Nancy Griffith of Glendale, AZ; Pamela Sloan of Phoenix, AZ; her sister in-law, Patricia “Pat” Johnson and her husband, Carter, of Glendale, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeri graduated from Lynchburg High School, where she was a cheerleader, as part of the class of 1967. Jeri had an extensive banking career, ultimately retiring from Bank of America in 2006 as VP of their Credit Card Processing division. Jeri had a passion for golf and often played at Dauphin Highlands in Harrisburg, Armitage Golf Course in Mechanicsburg, and in a travel league at many area courses. She had a soft spot for horses, loved to go shopping, and made the best homemade noodles. Jeri was passionately devoted to her family, and considered their matriarch. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jeri’s family will be celebrating her life privately. Cremation was private.
