Beloved Wife, Mother, and Nonni -
Joan Caroline (DeAngelis) Ducceschi, age 69, of Mechanicsburg , died unexpectedly at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on Monday, August 17, 2015. Joan was born on Friday, October 5, 1945, in Old Forge, PA to the late Rudolfo “Rudy” Marcello DeAngelis and Helen Rose (Slaski) DeAngelis.
Joan’s survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, John Vincent Ducceschi; her two children and one granddaughter: John R. Ducceschi and his daughter, Emma, of Mechanicsburg, Melissa Ducceschi and her husband, Bill Cortright, of Garner, NC; and her one sister: Christina Tagliaterra of Old Forge, PA; her one niece and four nephews.
Joan graduated from Old Forge High School as part of the class of 1961 and from Lackawanna Beauty School in 1963. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg. Joan was a beautician and seamstress. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, operas, old movies, and love stories. Joan is warmly remembered as a wonderful homemaker who was the heart of her family, and she loved being the Nonni to her granddaughter, Emma.
Joan’s family will be remembering her life privately. Cremation was private.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the organization of the donor’s choosing.
