Joan Carole (Wian) Stuck
Treasured Her Family -
Joan Carole (Wian) Stuck, age 91, of Carlisle, and formerly of Camp Hill, was reunited with her husband and daughter on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Joan was born on Monday, September 29, 1930, in Lewistown to the late Harry A. Wian and Mildred (Walters) Wian. Joan was the widow of George “Ed” Edward Stuck, Jr., whom she married on March 10, 1950, and who died on April 3, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan is preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Lee (Stuck) Taylor; and her brother, Lee A. Wian.
Joan’s survivors include her three grandchildren: Matthew “Matt” Jones and wife, Paula, of Carlisle, Kimberly “Kim” Hiles and husband, Joel, of Boiling Springs, Corey Taylor and wife, Kristen, of Carlisle; her seven great-grandchildren: Madelynn Baughman, Logan Jones, Joshua Hiles, Ryan Hiles, Emma Hiles, McKenna Taylor, Camden Taylor; and her two great-great-grandchildren: Wesley and Gabriella Baughman.
Joan graduated from Lewistown High School as part of the class of 1948. She was a former lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harrisburg. Joan was an avid fan of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and Penn State football. She loved to travel, especially with her brother and sister-in-law in their RV. Joan’s home was her place to be and it was the cleanest one anyone would have ever seen. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her close friend, Linda Brumbaugh. More than anything, Joan loved her family. She treasured spending time with them and singing hymns while her great-grandson played the piano.
All are welcome to join Joan’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 12:45 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.
