Joel “JT” Thomas Sigman
Family Was His Focus -
Joel “JT” Thomas Sigman, age 65, of Carlisle, was embraced by Jesus while feeling his family’s love on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Joel was born on Saturday, May 27, 1950, in Mechanicsburg to the late Richard Paul Sigman and Jean Catherine (Neumyer) Sigman.
Joel’s survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy Kay (Stringfellow) Sigman; his two daughters: Brenda (Sigman) Barnhart, Amy (Sigman) Bell; his eight beloved grandchildren: Nathan, Makayla, Saige, Trevor, Summer, Hunter, Tyler, and Shawn, who he raised as his own son; his two brothers: Joshua Sigman and his wife, Elaine, of Carlisle, Clarence Sigman of Carlisle; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Joel attended Boiling Springs High School. He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, after 32 years of service working in the Newville Maintenance Building. Joel attended the Carlisle First Church of God. He enjoyed the beach, attending car shows, bicycle rides; and he loved grilling with his BBQ pit and smoker. Joel’s faith was very important to him and it helped guide his life. He was extremely courageous throughout his entire life and fought his cancer until the very end. He was a hard-working man whose first priority was to help and care for others around him. His family was always his focus so much so that Joel moved home from Florida to be with them in the end.
