Joellyn “Jody” Danette (Fauver) DeMarco, 50, of Landisburg , died on Thursday, October 31, 2013, ending her battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Harrisburg, on February 17, 1963, daughter of Joseph Timothy Fauver and Ann (Giambastian) Hockman both of whom survive Jody. In addition to her parents, Jody is survived by her loving daughters, Danielle “Danni” P. Stine and her children Alexina and Jamison of Harrisburg, Nicole Lindsey Stine and her companion Justin Bordell and their daughter Viviana of Harrisburg; her three sisters, Jill Smith of Loysville, Janelle Fauver of Maryland, Joann Simmons of Maryland; her sister-in-law, Leanne Via of Mechanicsburg; and her nieces and nephews, Jordan Diggs, Shelby Smith, Taylor Diggs, Leah Simmons, and Logan Smith. Preceding Jody in death is her twin brother, Kirk Fauver.
Jody graduated from Central Dauphin High School as part of the class of 1981 and from Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) . She was a 15 year member of Life Center Ministries in Harrisburg. Jody was a 22 year Home Visitor with Capital Area Head Start , she was passionate about both children and teaching. Her love of children led her to found and operate Jody’s Storybook Kritters , where puppets told stories to children. Jody’s other loves include: dancing, music, gardening, boating, water skiing, her convertibles, and the beach. Her grandchildren held a special place in Jody’s heart and her family will always remember her saying, “You wissen to me!”
All are welcome to join Jody’s family at her Celebration of Life Reception on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Time of Remembrance at 5:30 p.m. and a Closing Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Room of the Linglestown Fire Company #1 , 5901 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112. The family welcomes children to attend from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and respectfully welcomes adults only from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Cremation and scattering will be private and at the convenience of the family. Honored to be urn bearers are Jody’s daughters, Danielle and Nicole.
