John L. Diller, Sr.

John Lester Diller, Sr., age 83, of Enola, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Penn State Hospital, Camp Hill. John was born on October 17, 1941 in Harrisburg to the late Boyd E. and Sara E. (Myers) Diller. 

John attended Cumberland Valley High School. He worked at Boyd E. Diller Inc. where he operated the waste business alongside his father Boyd and family building a large trash collection and municipal transfer station which served the Central Pa area. He dedicated his life to the company, with an unrelenting dedication, hard work and perseverance. 

After retiring in 2012 he enjoyed cruising on his pontoon boat at Raystown Lake. He liked to watch Nascar, dirt track races, wrestling and always kept up with the current news. John's greatest joy came from sharing time with his family and friends. Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew him, we take comfort in the countless memories we shared with him. 

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his three siblings: Elvin B. Diller, Sr., Walter I. Diller, and Ruth M. Apa and his former wife: Jean I. Diller.

He is survived by Daughters: Wanda J. Bauman and husband Verlan, Debra A. Trimbur and husband Gregory, Brenda L. Neidig and husband Loren; and a son: John L. Diller, Jr.  John is also survived by his loving companion: Darlene Smith; his eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. 

All are welcome to join John’s family at his viewing on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Interment will follow the service in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill. John’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the interment.
