J ohn H. Ilgenfritz, age 78, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at Holy Spirit Hospital while being comforted by his loving family on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. John was born on Sunday, November 21, 1937 in Carlisle, PA to the late Herbert J. Ilgenfritz and A. Madeline (Talhelm) Ilgenfritz.
John’s survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Mary (Moran) Ilgenfritz; his two siblings: Dorothy Badorf and her husband, Donald, of Mechanicsburg, and Frank Ilgenfritz of Mechanicsburg.
John attended Cumberland Valley High School. He retired from Rogele, Inc. in Harrisburg, after 25 years of service working as a construction laborer. John grew up milking cows on a farm that supplied Harrisburg Dairies. He enjoyed attending many different flea markets and cooking, especially soup recipes. His wife remembers his beautiful blue eyes and all who knew John remember him as a good guy who will be missed.
John’s family will be remembering his life privately. Burial in Letort Cemetery in Carlisle will be private and at the family's convenience.
