John “JJ” E. Jones, 74, of Mechanicsburg , died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born in Mechanicsburg, on October 1, 1938, son of the late Joseph Kenneth Jones and Gladys June (Myers) Jones.
JJ’s survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Pauline Alphonsine (Cline) Jones; his three daughters, Dawn Ann Blackston of Steelton, Darlene Anne Fisher and her husband Scott of Wellsville, Pamela Yvonne Casto and her husband Bob of Wellsville; his two grandchildren, Scottie Fisher, Stephanie Fisher; his three great grandchildren, Ian, Rhian, Rylie; his sister, Norma E. Saenz of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding JJ in death are his two brothers, George Royal Jones, Harold Eugene Jones and his sister Barbara E. Baron.
JJ graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1956. A large part of JJ’s career was spent driving truck for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Corrections . He was also a dealer for Patz Sales and Service and a truck driver for Red Neck Trailer Supplies . He was a proud member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and he was a member of the Masons and the Tall Cedars .
All are welcome to join JJ’s family at his visitation on Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 2:30 until time of memorial service at 3:00 at Crossroads Community Church , 1425 South Market Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Dan Courtney officiating. Cremation was private. JJ’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the memorial service.
