Joseph “Joe” Hamilton Snowden
A Friend to All -
Joseph “Joe” Hamilton Snowden, age 58, of Mechanicsburg, died at PennState Health Hershey Medical Center with his loving wife by his side on Friday, June 24, 2022. Joe was born on Saturday, August 17, 1963, in Erie to the late John Wilbert Snowden and Jeanne (Averill) Snowden.
Joe’s survivors include his beloved wife, Kimberly “Kim” (Dull) Snowden; his two step-sons: Nathan Harris, Adam Harris and his wife, Racquel; his three plus one grandchildren: Everett, Finley, Leonora and Letty who is on the way; his step-mother: Dixie Snowden; his three brothers: Scott Howard, Scott Snowden and James Howard; his three sisters: Nancy Clark, Heather Snowden and Brandi Kartzmark; and several nieces and nephews.
Joe graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1982 and from Shippensburg University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He was employed as a Planogram Analyst for SAS Retail Services since 2016 and he attended West Shore Free Church in Mechanicsburg. Joe loved Jazz and enjoyed going to many different venues to listen to live music. He was an avid racing fan, who liked attending the dirt track races at Williams Grove Speedway and watching NASCAR on television. Joe liked to take long rides on his bicycle and he enjoyed cooking and preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. He and Kim loved to travel and he especially enjoyed their trip to awe inspiring Alaska. Joe had the beach in his soul which explains why he so enjoyed being at the beach and especially Cape May, his favorite location. He was a friend to all and he will be deeply missed by many.
All are welcome to join Joe’s family at his gathering and greeting of family and friends on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m. at West Shore Free Church, 1345 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Ken Thompson and Pastor John Nesbitt officiating. Joe’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church; featuring Joe’s favorite salty snacks immediately following the service. Cremation was private.
