Joseph “Joe” Henry Strauser

Joseph “Joe” Henry Strauser, 79, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Enola, died at home while being surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.  Joe was born on Saturday, July 31, 1937, at home to the late Albert Strauser and Ester (Weaver) Strauser.  Joe was the husband of Charlotte Strauser, whom he married in August 23, 1997.  In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his two sons: Stephen Strauser, David Stauser; his brother, Earl Strauser; and his sister, Shirley.

Joe’s survivors include his wife of 19 years, Charlotte Diana (Zeiglar) Strauser; his two children: Randy Stauser of Newport, Brenda Malick of Shiremanstown; his five step-children: Dali Parson of Middletown, Sted Parson of Lebanon, Marty Zeigler of Mechanicsburg, John Ciccocioppo, Johnell Zimmerman both of Marysville; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He retired from Beverly Nursing Home in Camp Hill, after many years of service.  Joe was a lifelong follower of the Lord and enjoyed watching Rev. Cox on Sundays.  He enjoyed collecting replicas of older cars and putting puzzles together. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

At Joe's request family will be remembering his life privately.  Scattering will be done at the families convenience.  Cremation was private.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania (HCP) and everyone at West Shore Hospital who so lovingly cared for Joe during his illness.
