Joseph “Doc” Harry Miller

Joseph “Doc” Harry Miller, age 76, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Bedford, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.  Doc was born on Saturday, March 20, 1943 in Bedford to the late Alonza Carl Miller and Anna Alice (Zimmers) Miller. In addition to his parents, Doc is preceded in death by his four brothers: Robert Miller, Richard Miller, David “Bert” Miller, Jerry Miller; his infant sister, Sandra Miller and his beloved dog Freeway.

Doc’s survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Alexis (Browell) Miller; two daughters: Alecia Ann McGullion and her husband, Michael, of Carlisle, Susan Jo Conrath and her husband, Michael, of Bedford; his three grandchildren: Jacob Conrath, Joseph Conrath and Taylor Wareham; his four siblings: Thomas Miller of New Buena Vista, Virginia Carlson of Bedford, Alice “Sis” Burtnett of Everett and Patricia “Patsy” Diehl; and his several nieces and nephews.

Doc began working at Lane Enterprises after high school and retired as Vice President after a thirty plus year career.  He was past president of the National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association.  Doc was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Shiremanstown, PA.  He enjoyed golf, gardening and landscaping, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by all.

All are welcome to join Doc’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Bible Church, 2793 Briar Valley Road, Bedford, PA  15522.  Cremation was private.
