Josephine “Josi” Ann (Brandt) Martinez
Bright Smile and Infectious Laughter -
Josephine “Josi” Ann (Brandt) Martinez, age 62, of New Cumberland, and formerly of Rana Villa, PA, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Josi was born on Saturday, February 18, 1956 in Mechanicsburg to the late William Joseph Brandt and Mina Louise (Rudasill) Brandt. In addition to her parents, Josi is preceded in death by her two brothers: Milton Brandt and Albert Brandt.
Josi’s survivors include her husband of 29 years, Gabriel Luis Martinez, Jr.; her three daughters: Holly (Martinez) Seeger, Julie Martinez, Brandi Martinez all of New Cumberland; her granddaughter, Seneca Seeger; her six siblings: Charles Brandt, Anges Marie Lively, Samuel Brandt, Gordon Brandt, Mina Sue Brandt, Daniel Brandt; and many nieces and nephews.
Josi graduated from Cedar Cliff High School as part of the class of 1974. She was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Assembly of God in Wormleysburg, where she served as a former treasurer and Elder.
A mother in spirit long before she became a biological mother, Josi always had room in her heart, an open door, and a place at her table for anyone who needed love. Her presence always held warmth, love, and a feeling of “home” to many, even outside her family. Of all her interests, music and movies were the most prominent in her retirement. You could almost always find her watching classic movies on the couch or jamming to music while cooking dinner. The light of Josi’s life, aside from her three daughters, was her beloved granddaughter, Seneca. She cherished their “Grammy time” spent together playing, singing, and reading through Seneca’s vast book collection. Josi delighted many with her bright smile and infectious laughter. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by everyone whose lives she touched.
