Joseph “Joe” Costa, Jr., age 44, of Dillsburg, joined his mother and father in Heaven on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Joe was born on Sunday, April 2, 1972 in Camp Hill to the late Joseph Costa and Audrey Jeanne (Trethewy) Costa.
Joe’s survivors include his daughter, Olivia Costa of Maryland; his three sisters: Lisa Nearhood and her husband, Richard, of Millerstown, Molly Costa of Irvine, CA, Janey Costa of Camp Hill; and his two nephews: Justin Barr and his wife, Johvan, and their children: Albert and Jolene, Anthony Barr and his wife, Katrina.
Joe graduated from Mechanicsburg Area High School as part of the class of 1990. He was a talented artisan who could make anything he wanted to. Joe enjoyed creating murals, painting, woodworking, and landscaping. He loved to play golf and to watch his favorite golfer, Tiger Woods, compete. Joe was a compassionate and nonjudgmental man who always carried himself with a very humble demeanor. He will be remembered for his hilarious sense of humor and how he called himself “Mr. Fantastic” , which was always said in jest. Joe loved his father deeply; he saw him as his idol and role model. His sisters adored him and loved him profoundly. Joe will be missed by all his friends and family.
All are welcome to join Joe’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. until time of remembrance at 12:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. The family requests that everyone dresses casually and comfortably. Joe’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Mugs & Music, beginning at the funeral home, following the time of remembrance. Cremation was private.
