Joseph “Joe” Gaig Renter

Joseph “Joe” “Yayo’ “Grandfather” Gaig Renter, age 89, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Rego Park, NY, passed away at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with his son and daughter by his side on Monday, November 5, 2018.  Joe was born on Monday, June 17, 1929 in Barcelona, Spain to the late Miguel Gaig Andreu and Dolores Renter Rubio.  In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother, Miguel Gaig Renter.

Joe’s survivors include the love of his life, Maria De Lourdes Eloy Gaig Renter; his two children: Jose Renter, and his wife, Liz, of Hicksville, NY, Teresa Fusco and her husband, James, of Mechanicsburg; his four grandchildren: Joseph William Renter, Cristina Maria Hartmann and her husband, Greg, Daniel Luis Fusco, Jennifer Marie Renter; his three siblings: Juan Gaig Renter, Albert Gaig Renter and his wife, Montse Ferras Valles, Teresa Gaig Renter, all of Barcelona, Spain; and his sister-in-law, Margarita Sarda De Gaig of Barcelona, Spain.

All are welcome to join Joe’s family at his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.  Cremation was private.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Pam and Joe Caserta and Family who so lovingly helped to care for Joe during his illness.
