Joyce (Odeitus) Eisenhauer

Joyce (Odeitus) Eisenhauer, age 83, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Shenandoah, died on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Joyce was born on Wednesday, October 9, 1940. Joyce was born to the late Joseph Anthony Odeitus and Anna (Jurgenson) Odeitus. In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Stephen Miersky and her siblings Lawrence "Leon" and Dorothy.

Joyce’s survivors include her husband of 11 years, Donald “Don” Eisenhauer; her son, Stephen Miersky and his significant other, Melissa of St. Clair; her three stepsons, Richard Mayer and his wife, Cindy of Dillsburg, Dennis Mayer and his wife Pam of Dillsburg, and Donald Eisenhauer, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Fredericksburg, PA; her stepdaughter, Anne Platt and her husband, Keith of Camp Hill; her granddaughter, Caitlyn Miersky; her 12 step grandchildren, Jonathan Mayer, Alex Mayer, Steven Mayer, Brian Mayer, Katherine Eisenhauer, Justin Eisenhauer, Joshua Eisenhauer, Amanda Sullivan, Benjamin Platt, Debra Platt, William Platt, Thomas Platt; her 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion: Dixie Lee.

Joyce was an active member of St. Katharine Drexel Church in Mechanicsburg since 2013 where she enjoyed working on the decorating committee. Joyce loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and camping with her family. Joyce will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have been in her life. 

Joyce’s family will be remembering her life privately. Cremation was private.
