Joyce Eleanor (Jacoby) Reith, 81, of Mechanicsburg , died at The Bridges at Bent Creek in Mechanicsburg on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.  She was born in Harrisburg, on Sunday, July 5, 1931, daughter of the late Charles B. Jacoby and Anna Ruth (Baum) Jacoby.  Joyce was the widow of Robert “Bob” Andrew Reith whom she married on September 7, 1963.

Joyce graduated from John Harris High School as part of the class of 1950.  She retired from The Virginia Nut Shop in New Cumberland, after years of fudge making.  Joyce loved yard sales, antique shopping and shopping in general and she shared many such hours with her beloved brother, Carl.  She was a devoted bowler having spent over 35 years as a regular at Trindle Bowl .  Joyce also loved playing pinochle with her Pinochle Club .  She enjoyed tennis, attending the shows at Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs and traveling with her late husband.  Joyce greatly loved her grandchildren and her special nieces and nephews.

Joyce’s survivors include her loving children, Colleen Viccaro of Lemoyne, Kevin Andrew Reith and his wife DeAnna of Mechanicsburg, Brian Richard Reith of Harrisburg; her grandchildren, Trevor Heckert, Amber Rockwell, Robby Viccaro, Jessica Viccaro; her brother, Carl Jacoby of Camp Hill; and her very special nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Joyce in death are her brother, Kenneth Sheets; and her sister, Audrey Higgins.

All are welcome to join Joyce’s family at her viewing on Saturday, December 22, 2012, from 9:30 until time of service at 10:30 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Celebrant Alan Echard officiating.  Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Joyce’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at West Main Family Restaurant , 710 West Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, following the burial.

Due to Robby Viccaro’s proud service to our country and his deployment overseas as part of the United States Army he will be unable to attend his grandmother’s service but he will be with his family in spirit.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
