Judith “Judy” Ann Skelly, age 52, of Mechanicsburg, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Judy was born on Friday, September 18, 1964 in Philadelphia to Roxann Koser Guyer. Judy was the widow of Robert “Bob” McGarvey. In addition to her husband, Judy is preceded in death by her one half-brother, Ryan Keith Guyer.
Judy’s survivors include her companion, David Bretz of Dillsburg; her father, Robert “Bob” C. Skelly and his wife, Louise (Ewing), of Mechanicsburg; her mother, Patricia Buckley of Punta Gorda, FL; her birth mother, Roxann Koser Guyer of Mechanicsburg; her two daughters: Michelle McGarvey of Wormleysburg, Melyssa McGarvey and her companion, Justin, and their daughter, Brooke, of Camp Hill; her brother, Alan Skelly and his wife, Sharon, of Mechanicsburg; her step-brother, Kurt Voggenreiter and his wife, Angel, of Gainsville, VA; her half-brother, Ronald “Ron” Keith Guyer and his wife, Kimberly Ann, of Mechanicsburg; her step-sister, Erica (Voggenreiter) Williams and her husband, David, of Moon Township; and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was a long-time employee of Highmark Blue Shield and was in retirement for several years due to her illness.
Judy’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 135 West Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Pastor Charles Cole from Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown will officiate. A luncheon will be held after the service in the church’s fellowship hall.
To honor Judy’s commitment to health and education, her body has been donated to Pennsylvania Humanity Gifts Registry.
