Judy Irene (Green) Jehu

Genuinely Kind and Loving -

Judy Irene (Green) Jehu, age 74, of Mechanicsburg , and formerly of Altoona and Huntingdon , died at home on Thursday, July 23, 2015, after a long, 11-year battle with cancer.  Judy was born on Monday, January 20, 1941 in Altoona to the late Melvin Porter Green, Sr. and Alverda Irene (Irwin) Green.  In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin “Butch” Porter Green, Jr.

Judy’s survivors include her devoted husband of 43 years, Richard “Dick” L. Jehu, Sr.; and her three sons: Stephen Forgas and his wife, Lori, of Oshkosh, WI, and their children, Tyler, Zachary, and Kaitlyn; Sean Jehu and his wife, Tara, and their children, Melanie, Heath, Adeline, Eliza, Cecilia, all of Fairfax, VA; Richard Jehu, Jr. and his wife, Alisha, and their children, Haley Marie, Haley Mae, Mason, and Clay, all of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Judy graduated as valedictorian from Hollidaysburg Area High School as part of the class of 1958 and with a 4.0 GPA from Hagerstown Business College .  She retired from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Republican Caucus in 2007 after working for Representative Tim Hennessey.  Judy was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church in Mechanicsburg, where her faith was bolstered.  Her great laugh was the perfect complement to her wonderful sense of humor.  She was a discerning and intelligent woman who would open her heart and home to anyone.  Judy was genuinely interested in people and their lives and was always fully present to others.  In all of their years together, Dick never remembers Judy saying a negative word about anyone.  She lived her life with honesty, dignity, and unconditional love; and no one who met Judy ever forgot her.  Above all, Judy had an incredible relationship with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  Judy’s kind, selfless, and giving spirit will long be remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

All are welcome to join Judy’s family at her memorial service on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church , 1425 Orrs Bridge Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050; with The Reverend Dr. Jan Nolting Carter and The Reverend Dr. Russell C. Sullivan, Jr. officiating.  Judy’s family invites everyone to join them for a reception and greeting of family and friends at her church immediately following the memorial service.  Cremation and scattering are private.
