Julius David Neveker, Sr., age 79, of Sykesville , and formerly of Baltimore , died at his son’s home on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Julius was born on Thursday, September 5, 1935 in Baltimore to the late Julius David Neveker and Anna Elizabeth (Gulas) Neveker.
Julius’s survivors include his wife, Nancy Ann Neveker of 52 years; his sons: Julius “Jib” David Neveker, Jr. and his companion, Sue Hagar, of Gulfport, Florida and Walter Russell Neveker of Mechanicsburg; his grandchildren: Bailey, Brodey, and Brevin; his brother: William Neveker and his wife, Joan, of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.
Julius retired from Baltimore City Police Department in Baltimore, after 50 years and one month of service working as a police officer and retiring as a detective. He was also a member of the Army National Guard for 10 years. Julius was extremely proud of his dedicated service as a police officer. He loved to fish when he wasn’t attending his sons’ and grandsons’ ice hockey games. Julius enjoyed watching Walter’s local and college baseball games as well.
All are welcome to join Julius’s family at his memorial service on Saturday, April 11, 2015, starting at 1:00 p.m. at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel , 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD.
