Kathryn “Kay” Isabel (Logue) Eagan, age 82, of Mechanicsburg, died unexpectedly in Florida while on vacation on Friday, May 18, 2018. Kay was born on Friday, June 14, 1935 in Meyersdale, PA to the late William J. Logue, M.D. and Grace (McCall) Logue. In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her brothers: Patrick Logue and Donald Logue.
Kay’s survivors include her loving husband of almost 60 years, James “Jim” Joseph Eagan; her two sons: Patrick Eagan and his wife, Christine “Christy”, of Mechanicsburg, Christopher Eagan and his wife, Laura; her four grandchildren; her great grandchild; her brother; and several nieces and nephews.
Kay was a folk art painter and she enjoyed gardening, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She loved traveling with family & friends, camping with her boys, going on cross-country trips, traveling to Florida every year, and making outings to local destinations. Kay was an active member of the American Legion Post #109 Auxiliary, TOPS, & Penn's Woods Painters. Her grandchildren, Colleen, James, Shannan & Caitlyn and her great grandson, Rowan, brought her endless joy as she did for them. Her beautiful Irish smile, laughter, quick wit, and generous heart will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
All are welcome to join Kay’s family at her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Rev. Augustine Joseph celebrating. Kay’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at American Legion Post #109, 224 West Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, immediately following the Mass.
Cremation will be private and interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in celebration of Kay’s life can be made to any charity of the donor’s choosing.
