Keith Leroy Seltzer
A Real Character -
Keith Leroy Seltzer, age 55, of Camp Hill , died at West Shore Hospital on Monday, April 6, 2015. Keith was born on Wednesday, December 9, 1959 in Harrisburg to Kenneth Leroy Seltzer and Joan Agnes (George) Hupp. Keith is preceded in death by his sister, Denise Keyworth.
Keith’s survivors include his father, Kenneth Leroy Seltzer and his wife, Doris, of Dover; his mother, Joan Agnes Hupp of Hummelstown; his companion of 10 years, Linda Marie Sharretts; his sisters: Julie Newberry and her husband, Tim, of Harrisburg, Wendy Arwood of Middletown, Diana Coffey of Hummelstown, Wanda Arnold of Dillsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Keith was a Senior GIS/CADD Technician at Skelly and Loy in Harrisburg, where he worked for 30 years. He was an elected official of the Cumberland County Bureau of Elections , serving as the Minority Inspector for the 4 th Precinct in Lower Allen. Keith held a wealth of knowledge on numerous topics, including WWII history, aviation, world politics, and geography. His mind was like an encyclopedia, and Keith shared his technological knowledge while teaching AutoCAD classes at Harrisburg Area Community College . Keith was a long-time bowler on the Nut Racers Team in the Mixed Nuts League at ABC West Lanes , He enjoyed fishing and cooking. Keith was a great cook who made the best ribs, macaroni and cheese, and scrapple. Keith liked dragons and had a passion for the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire ; he even sewed and did leather work for some of the costumes. His favorite activities there were sword-fighting and archery. Keith was an avid and competitive Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He always proclaimed he was more of a dog person; however, Keith loved his cats so much that he built them a monstrous haven that fondly became known as their “European Cat Spa.” Keith liked reminding people that “Vegetables are what food eats.” Keith is remembered as a real character by those who knew him.
All are welcome to join Keith’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 17, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Keith’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at West Main Family Restaurant , 710 West Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, following the service. Cremation was private.
