Kenneth Wayne Kammeier

Kenneth, also known as “Ken” or “Gus,” age 68, of Enola , died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.  Ken was born on Sunday, January 26, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to the late Kenneth Elmer Kammeier and Ima Maxine (Olander) Kammeier.  In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his brother, Mike.

Ken’s survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Karen L. (Fraking) Kammeier; his three children: Brett Kammeier and his wife, Carolyn, of West Chester, PA, Kara Eppley and her husband, Todd, of Mechanicsburg, PA, Kendra Nader and her husband, Jason, of Davidsonville, MD; his eight grandchildren: Madeline Eppley, Andrew Eppley Jake Kammeier, Charlie Kammeier, Christian Kammeier, Charlotte Nader, Samantha Eppley, Benjamin Nader; his four siblings: Tim, Becky, Beth, John; and several nieces and nephews.

Ken graduated from McCluer High School in 1965.  After serving in the U.S. Army infantry during the Vietnam War, Ken attended Central Missouri State University , graduating in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting.  He retired as vice president of accounting and finance from Continental Cooperative Services in Harrisburg in 2011.  Ken served for over 35 years to the Rural Electric Cooperatives in the states of Missouri, Illinois and Pennsylvania.  Ken was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, where he participated in various Bible studies.  Ken also volunteered his time and energies on over 25 mission trips to Henderson Settlement in Frakes, Kentucky.  Ken will be deeply missed by his wife, the love of his life, and his children and grandchildren, the light of his heart.  Ken had a passion for knowing Christ and was a family man who put God first.

All are welcome to join Ken’s family at his viewing on Friday, August 7, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and for his celebration of life service on Saturday, August 8, 2015, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church , 1480 Jerusalem Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050; with Reverend Troy Howell officiating.   Ken’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church immediately following the service.
