Kenneth "Ken" Lynn Dum

Kenneth “Ken” Lynn Dum, age 72, of New Bloomfield, died on Monday, November 4, 2024. Ken was born on Friday, August 22, 1952, in Carlisle to the late Josiah Fickes Dum, Jr. and Anna Louise (Gray) Dum. In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his brother: Gerald Dum.

Ken’s survivors include his wife of six years, Darlene (Delancey) Loper; his two children: Kaisa Dum and partner, Paul, of Elizabethtown, Spencer Dum and wife, Gina, of Northumberland; his two step-children: Mark Loper, Suzanne Eicher and husband, Matthew; his two grandchildren: Sophia Ann Dum, Connor Josiah Dum; his three step-grandchildren: Emma Eicher, Molly Eicher, Harrison Eicher; his two siblings: John “Lanny” Duke and wife, Melissa, of Rio Rancho, NM, Jacie Miller and husband, Kenneth, of Elliottsburg; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion: Binx.

Ken graduated from West Perry Senior High School as part of the class of 1972. He retired in 2010 as owner/operator of the well-established Camp Hill salon: Kenneth & Co. Ken attended Christian Life Assembly, he found strength through God for his entire life. He had a natural talent for entertaining and making others laugh. Ken was blessed with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. He exhibited a distinctive sense of style and was endearingly eccentric. He was remarkably generous and deeply loved his family and grandchildren. To have known him was to have loved him. He will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have been in his life.

All are welcome to join Ken’s family at his viewing on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Ken's burial will take place privately in Carlisle.
