Kenneth “KK” Karl Steckline

Loving Father and Grandfather -

Kenneth “KK” Karl Steckline, age 65, of Carlisle , and formerly of Harrisburg , died at home on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.  Kenneth was born on Monday, August 8, 1949 in Harrisburg to the late Kenneth and Vera Steckline.

Kenneth’s survivors include his daughter, granddaughter, and loving family.

Kenneth graduated from Central Dauphin High School as part of the class of 1968.  He is a Vietnam War veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps .  Kenneth retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postmaster.  He was a member of VFW Post 477 , Amvets Post 274 , both in Carlisle, and the West Shore Elks Lodge .  Some of Kenneth’s favorite pastimes were golfing and watching the Phillies.  He was a cat lover and a car enthusiast, specifically Hondas and Toyotas.  Kenneth was a very generous man and a caring grandfather who wanted more than anything to watch his granddaughter grow up and to have more grandchildren.  He spoiled his daughter, who was his princess, and his granddaughter, who was his angel.  Kenneth’s family remembers him as a stubborn and bull-headed Italian, and his heart melted at the sight of his granddaughter.

All are welcome to join Kenneth’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle, where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard .
