Kenneth “Ken” Walter Sikes

Kenneth “Ken” Walter Sikes, age 65, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Haddonfield, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.  Ken was born on Saturday, September 28, 1957, in Camden, NJ to the late Barney Lee Sikes and Fannie “Faye” (Bruedley) Sikes.  In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Sikes; his nephew, Michael Brandt; and his brother in-law, Carlton Brandt.

Ken’s survivors include his loving companion of 23 years, Mickie McGrath; his son, William “Will” Sikes of Sicklerville, NJ; his sister, Carolee Brandt of Houlton, ME; his three nieces: Jennifer Gilbert and her husband, Nick, of Linneus, ME; Renata Clark and her husband, Shane, of Philadelphia; Kylie Franks of Skippack; his two nephews: Zackery McGrath of Philadelphia; Tyler Franks of Skippack; his two great-nephews, Noah and Thomas; his great-niece, Shea; and his niece in-law, Katie Brandt of Porsmouth, RI.

Ken graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School as part of the class of 1975 and from Glassboro State College New Jersey in 1979.  His hobbies included independent wrestling, roller derby and all things Monster Mania Convention.  Ken was active within the West Shore Elks Lodge #2257.  He held the title of Esteemed Loyal Knight, enjoyed calling Bingo every Saturday and was one of Santa’s greatest helpers at the Elks.  Ken will be missed by so many.

All are welcome to join Ken’s family at his celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an Elks service and time of remembrance at 3:30 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory).  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Cremation was private.

All are also welcome to join Ken’s family at his visitation on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 4:00 p.m. all at Ora L. Wooster Funeral Home, 51 Park Boulevard, Clementon, NJ 08021.
