Kent Nevin Weber, 69, of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital and surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 9, 2014.  He was born in Harrisburg, PA, on Wednesday, May 17, 1944, son of the late Elwood Nevin Weber and Catharine Maime (Myers) Weber.  Kent was the husband of Millie Catherine (Taylor) Weber whom he married on October 7, 2000.

Kent’s survivors include his loving wife of 13 years, Millie Catherine (Taylor) Weber; his son, Todd Steven Weber of Mechanicsburg; his daughter, Crissy R. Kumler and her husband Shane and their son Ian of Dillsburg; his brother, James G. Weber and his wife Gayle of Virginia; his constant canine companion, Ellie; his six nieces; one nephew; six great nieces; five great nephews; and one great great-niece.  Among those preceding Kent in death is his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Lou Moser.

Kent graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1962.  He retired as the store manager from Napa in Harrisburg, PA, after many years of service as a sales representative.  Kent was a proud Air Force veteran.  He was an extremely proud father and his grandson was the apple of his eye.  Kent was a life-member of the American Legion #109 in Mechanicsburg where he served as President of the Home Association for over 20 years and as the canteen manager.  He was a member of the Lower Allen VFW #7530 , the Mechanicsburg Club , the Businessmen’s League in Mechanicsburg, and the F&AM Masonic Eureka Lodge #302 in Mechanicsburg.  Kent was an avid lover of dogs, golf, cars, and yard work especially while riding his John Deer Tractor.  He loved the outdoors, NASCAR Racing, Baseball, and Budweiser (not necessarily in that order).

All are welcome to join Kent’s family at his Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Celebrant Mary Medkeff-Rose officiating.  Cremation was private.  Interment will follow the memorial service in Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, PA, where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard .  Honored to be urn bearer is Todd Weber.  Kent’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship following the interment at Noonan’s Tavern at Range End Golf Club , 303 Golf Club Avenue, Dillsburg, PA 17019.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Lebanon VA Medical Center , c/o Volunteer Services, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.  The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Lebanon VA Medical Center who so lovingly cared for Kent.
