Kongsi (Uppani) Yarlett

A Loving and Giving Woman -

Kongsi (Uppani) Yarlett, age 72, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully while being comforted by her family on Monday, July 31, 2017.  Kongsi was born on Wednesday, February 7, 1945 in Tambon Bua Khao, Thailand to the late Champa Uppani and Bal Uppani.

Kongsi’s survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Dennis Leon Yarlett; and her son, Dennis Lester Yarlett and his wife, Julia, and their children: Jayden and Kenzie, all of Mechanicsburg; and her beloved canine companion, Map.

Kongsi was a very strong willed, simple, and persistent woman.  She had a loving and giving personality; Kongsi enjoyed taking care of everyone.  Above all, she adored her granddaughters and they looked up to her because, in their words, she was brave and kind.  Kongsi loved her two dogs and they held a special place in her heart.  In 2006, her 30 lb Chihuahua, “Cozy”, passed away and surely the two met again over the Rainbow Bridge.  Her Japanese Chin, “Map” was given a name that means flat in Thai to describe his flat facial features.  Map never left her side and they shared a very special bond.  Kongsi will be missed dearly by her family and by those who knew and loved her.

All are welcome to join Kongsi’s family at her viewing on Monday, August 7, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.  Honored to be pallbearers are Ted Adams, Scott Clelan, Dan Edmondson, Justin Grove, Seth Washburn, and Charlie Weaver.  Kongsi’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the New Kingstown Fire Company Banquet Hall following the burial.

Kongsi’s family has entrusted her care to Myers – Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.  Read Kongsi’s full obituary, view her memorial video and portrait, and sign her official guest book at Buhrig.com.
