Kris was born on Tuesday, June 27, 1978, to George Clarence Smith and Rosemarie Hilda (Conklin) Dorman. Kris is preceded in death by his stepdad, Max Dorman; and his faithful canine companion, Zeke.
Kris’s survivors include his fiancé, Krystal Ghalbi-McGraw; his six children: Keenan Smith and girlfriend, Stephanie Waller, Landen Smith and girlfriend, Paige Urban, Ethan Smith, Cailyn Smith, Jakob Smith, Adeline Smith, all of Mechanicsburg; his two stepdaughters: Lorelai and Lillianna McGraw, both of Mechanicsburg; his father, George Smith and wife, Sherry, of Mechanicsburg; his mother, Rosemarie Dorman; his sister, Jennifer Warren; his two stepbrothers: Rick Shoaff, Jason Shoaff; and several nieces and nephews.
Kris graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1996. He was currently employed with FedEx Ground as a subcontractor for roughly the last 15 years. Kris worked in various positions such as a driver, route manager, and most recently, fleet manager. He also previously served as a volunteer firefighter. Kris was nothing but dedicated to his kids; everything he did was for them. He loved it when the whole family could be with one another. They would go camping and travel together to see new places. Most recently, they took the camper and stayed on a beach in Texas before heading to Laurel, MS. Kris enjoyed trying new things and encouraging his children to do the same thing. One example of this was when the family went on a cruise together. He truly treasured the time that was spent with his kids; all the memories they created that will be cherished for many, many years to come.
Kris’s family will be celebrating his life at a later date when there is warmer weather. Cremation was private.
