Larry “Skip” Richard Eslinger, age 78, of Enola, passed away peacefully while being comforted by his family at Holy Spirit Hospital on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Larry was born on Monday, June 13, 1938 in Enola to the late Robert Eslinger and Alberta (Stoner) Eslinger.
Larry’s survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marsha Lea (Nonemaker) Eslinger; his five children: Corey Eslinger and his wife, Joyce, of Enola, Kendra Sweeney and her husband, Kevin, of New Cumberland, Tracy Eslinger and his wife, Leslie, of Loysville, Karen Eslinger of Enola, Kevin Eslinger and his wife, Deborah, of Landisburg; his seven grandchildren; his one great-grandchild; and his sister, Virginia Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was a successful businessman who retired from Culligan Water in Mechanicsburg, after 50 years of service working as a water treatment expert and then becoming the owner. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and the Mechanicsburg Sportsman Association. Larry was a survival training and hunter education instructor. He was also involved in the Cumberland County Junior Conversation School. He was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman as well as a champion archer.
All are welcome to join Larry’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Saturday, July 30, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Gavin Whitcomb, Sr. officiating. Cremation was private. Larry’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at The Stage & Studio Café, right next door to the funeral home, following the service.
