Laura Ann (Edsell) Robinson
A Life of Faithful Service -
Laura Ann (Edsell) Robinson, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, died early in the morning on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. Laura was born on Sunday, March 30, 1952, in Towanda, PA to the late Paul Wilson Edsell and Milrea Irma (Chubbuck) Edsell.
Laura’s survivors include her husband of 40 years, John “JR” Walter Robinson; her two children: Nathan “Nate” Robinson and wife, Kylene, and their children of Woodstock, VA, Nicole Laing and husband, James, and their children of Glenshaw, PA; her seven brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Laura’s life was filled with faith, love, learning, and laughter. The greatest joys in her life were spending time with family and friends, working as a public school speech therapist, leading women’s Bible studies, and sharing humorous stories. Those who knew Laura always felt loved and cared for by her. Laura was a member of both the Evangelical Covenant Church of Port Allegany and Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. She shared her gifts in faith by teaching Sunday school, leading Bible studies in her home, and singing in church choirs. Beyond the love and compassion she showed, Laura will always be remembered for her life of faithful service and life-giving laughter.
All are welcome to join Laura’s family on Thursday, September 9, 2021, for her gathering of family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and for her service at 2:00 p.m. at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 North 23rd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011; with Rev. Nancy A. Conklin and Rev. Donald Potter officiating. Family requests and the church requires that all guests wear masks indoors. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021. Pallbearers are Marty Edsell, Cliff Robinson, Tom Edsell, James Laing, Seth Edsell, Ken Myers, and Nathan Robinson with Peter Laing, Ariana Robinson, Andrew Laing, and Jonah Robinson serving as honorary pallbearers.
