Lavere Lewis Brenneman, 89, of Mechanicsburg died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born in Boiling Springs on Sunday, February 18, 1923 son of the late Howard Brenneman and Mary Martin Brenneman. Lavere was the husband of Kathleen L. (Swanger) Brenneman who he married on June 8, 1949.

Lavere retired from Conrail after 35 years of service. He was a 35 year member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg where he served as an usher and sang in the choir. Lavere was proud to be a WWII Navy Veteran who served as a Seebee in the South Pacific Theatre.

Lavere’s survivors include his loving wife of almost 63 years: Kathleen L. (Swanger) Brenneman; one brother: Vincent Brenneman and his wife Jeanne of Carlisle; two sisters: Patty Hockley of Mt. Holly, Nancy Brownawell of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Lavere in death are two brothers: Clarence Brenneman, Leon Brenneman; and one sister: Cleora Manmiller.

All are welcome to join Lavere’s family at his viewing on Monday, April 16, 2012, from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 at Emmanuel Baptist Church , 4681 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050, with Pastor Steve Crews officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill where military honors will be presented by Cumberland County Honor Guard . Lavere’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church following the burial.

The family suggests memorial contributions to his church, Emmanuel Baptist Church.
