Laverne Rose (Egan) Chamberlin, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2016. Laverne was born on Saturday, November 3, 1923 in Chicago, IL to the late James Egan and Rose M. (Follmann) Egan. Laverne was the widow of Paul Edgar Chamberlin, whom she married on April 14, 1951, and who died on September 7, 1989. In addition to her parents and husband, Laverne is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy M. Chamberlin.
Laverne’s survivors include her two children: Patricia “Patty” Albert of Shiremanstown, Nancy Chamberlin of Boston; her three grandchildren: Jason Albert, Cara Albert of Mechanicsburg, Henry Chamberlin of Boston; and several nieces and nephews.
Laverne loved to play cards and bridge. If she wasn’t playing a card game, Laverne could be found reading. She would read anything she could find, but her favorite subjects were biography or nature. Laverne also had a love of the environment and the world around her. She was deeply loved by her daughters and grandchildren; she will be missed by all of them
Laverne’s family will be remembering her life privately. Cremation was private.
